Who we are

Slim Dutch provides Dutch-language learning courses and the Slim Dutch app. Contact us at slimradiobusiness@gmail.com.

Information we collect

• Account data: email address, display name, password hash, course group, level, and optional profile photo.
• Learning data: submitted practice responses, completed sessions, scores, XP, vocabulary progress, achievements, and lesson access.
• Chat data: messages you send and associated voice-note URL, title, and duration.
• Community-safety data: Terms acceptance, blocked-account relationships, reports, the reported message when applicable, and moderation status.
• Security data: sign-in attempt email address, account ID when available, IP address, time, success status, and limited abuse-prevention event details.
• On-device data: sign-in tokens, cached content, and homework-reminder preferences stored locally to keep the app working.

Profile-photo access is requested only when you choose to upload a photo. The microphone is used only when you choose a speaking drill. Your device or browser's speech-recognition service may process that audio to return text; Slim Dutch does not store microphone recordings. Homework reminders are scheduled locally on your device when you turn them on.

Why we use it

We use account data to let you sign in, learning data to provide your course and progress, chat data to deliver student conversations, and security and report data to prevent abuse and respond to safety concerns. We do not sell personal data or use it for cross-app advertising or tracking.

Sharing and retention

Your display name, optional profile photo, and verified XP can be visible to other Slim Dutch learners in the app. Chat recipients can see messages you send. Slim Dutch administrators and Namecheap, our hosting provider, may process information as needed to operate courses, provide support, keep the service secure, and comply with law. We keep account and learning data while your account is active. Sign-in and abuse-prevention security records are deleted after 30 days. Server backups, when present, are retained for no longer than 30 days before rotation.

Delete your account

You can permanently delete your account in the app: Profile → Delete account → Delete account. This deletes your account, sessions, progress, achievements, profile photo, authentication tokens, invitations, and messages you authored. Shared conversations and messages written by the other participant remain available to that participant. Active-system deletion happens immediately; any backup copy is removed on the next backup rotation, within 30 days.
