Privacy policy

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, display name, internal account ID, course group, course level, and password hash.
• Learning information: submitted practice responses, completed sessions, scores, XP, vocabulary progress, achievements, and lesson access.
• Profile information: an optional profile photo if you choose to upload one.
• Chat information: messages you send and related voice-note details, such as a title, URL, and duration.
• Security information: sign-in attempt email address, account ID when available, IP address, timestamp, success status, and limited abuse-prevention event details.
• On-device information: sign-in tokens, content cache, and homework-reminder preferences stored on your device to keep the app working.

Permissions and device features

Profile-photo access is requested only when you choose to upload a photo. The microphone is used only when you choose a speaking drill. Your device or browser's speech-recognition service may process that audio to return text; Slim Dutch does not store microphone recordings. Homework reminders are scheduled locally on your device when you turn them on.

How we use information

We use this information to create and secure accounts, deliver course content, save learning progress, provide chat, leaderboards and challenges, send the features you choose to use, and prevent abuse or technical problems.

How information is shared

We do not sell personal information and do not use it for cross-app advertising or tracking. Other Slim Dutch learners may see your display name, optional profile photo, and verified XP where the app shows these features. Chat recipients can see messages you send. Slim Dutch administrators and Namecheap, our hosting provider, may process information as needed to operate courses, provide support, keep the service secure, and comply with law.

Retention and security

We keep account and learning information while an account is active. Sign-in and abuse-prevention security records are kept for up to 30 days. If backups are used, they rotate within 30 days. We use HTTPS for data in transit, store passwords as hashes, and use authenticated sessions to protect account access.

Your choices and rights

You can update your display name and profile photo in the app. You can delete your account in the app, or request deletion by email if you cannot sign in. Depending on applicable law, you may also ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information by contacting us.

Account deletion

Deletion removes your account, profile information and photo, authentication sessions and tokens, invitations, practice sessions, progress, achievements, and chat messages you authored. Shared conversation records and messages written by the other participant remain available to that participant. Active-system deletion happens immediately; any retained backup copy is removed during the next backup rotation, within 30 days.

If you cannot access the app, email slimradiobusiness@gmail.com from the email address registered to your Slim Dutch account. Use “Delete my Slim Dutch account” as the subject. We may ask you to verify account ownership before completing the request.

Terms of use

Using Slim Dutch

You may use Slim Dutch for your own learning. Keep your account credentials private and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Respectful use

Do not post harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual content, spam, scams, illegal material, personal contact details, or content that exploits another person. Do not impersonate someone, interfere with the service, attempt to access another account, or copy or redistribute course content except where permitted by law.

Use the clearly labeled Report and Block controls in student chat when another learner breaks these rules. Slim Dutch reviews reports and may remove content, restrict community features, or suspend accounts to protect learners and the service.

Content and learning outcomes

Slim Dutch and its course material, design, and branding are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. The app is an educational tool; progress and outcomes depend on the learner, and we do not guarantee a particular result.

Changes and availability

We may update the app, course material, and these terms as the service develops. If we make a material change to this page, we will update the date above. We aim to keep Slim Dutch available and secure, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.
